Ecclesiastes 11:5 NCV
“You don’t know where the wind will blow, and you don’t know how a baby grows inside the mother. In the same way, you don’t know what God is doing, or how he created everything.”
Moses, the man of God, once told the Israelites, “The secret things belong to the LORD our God, but the things which are revealed and disclosed belong to us and to our children forever…” (Deu 29:29 AMP). While one may wonder why some “secret things belong [only] to the LORD our God,” seen from another angle, it is actually a blessing that some things are known to Him alone. For example, faith is effective when employed only for things “revealed and disclosed” in God’s word as belonging to us to lay hold of. That implies, whatever the LORD has kept within His secret knowledge is entirely His to handle.
Our text of reference says, “You don’t know where the wind will blow, and you don’t know how a baby grows inside the mother. In the same way, you don’t know what God is doing, or how he created everything.” Hallelujah! God divinely handles that entirely by Himself. Such truth ought to bring us rest on the inside, especially knowing that whatever is happening regarding the things we don’t have control over—such as the direction of the wind—is in God’s full control. Again, it should make us trust in the LORD with all our hearts and lean not on our own limited understanding (Pro 3:5).
Child of God, the LORD is able to “…achieve infinitely more than your greatest request, your most unbelievable dream, and exceed your wildest imagination!” (Eph 3:20 TPT). Notice, while our text indicates that there are things we “don’t know,” you can comfortably find peace in the fact that “you [only] don’t know what God is doing.” In other words, “God is doing [something that] you don’t know.” Oh Yes, He is. Jesus once revealed, “My Father has been working until now [He has never ceased working], and I too am working” (Joh 5:17 AMP). Indeed, He is working, partly to make all things work together for our good (Rom 8:28).
