SEE ONLY GOD’S SURE SALVATION

Psalm 126:1 AMP
“When the LORD brought back the captives to Zion (Jerusalem), we were like those who dream [it seemed so unreal].”

The LORD is so good at glorifying His name in all circumstances. Time has repeatedly proved that the LORD is God, sovereign to defend people and do things to the glory of His praise—no matter how impossible things may appear to mankind. Like no other deity who has lived up to their words, only God Almighty alone is He who has boldly and rightly said, “I am the LORD, and there is no other; there is no God besides Me. I will gird you, though you have not known Me. I have sworn by Myself; the word has gone out of My mouth in righteousness, and shall not return, that to Me every knee shall bow, every tongue shall take an oath” (Isa 45:5, 23 NKJV).

When the Lord Jesus lived here on earth physically, the power and glory with which He operated were incomparable to anything! Besides, doubt or defeat were never found in Christ’s words. At one point, He said to the disciples, “With men this is impossible, but with God all things are possible” (Mat 19:26 NKJV). Hallelujah! That background points to the truth that relying firmly on God—with whom all things are possible—is simply the best thing to do at all times. Indeed, living in a physical world that is informed largely by the five senses, relying on God does not often come ‘naturally’: it takes faith, being fully persuaded that, what God has promised in His word, He is able also to perform.

Israel and the saints of old in the Scriptures bear great witness to God’s faithfulness. For instance, after a long and distressful captivity in Babylon, Israel’s return to Jerusalem brought them much joy. Put in their own words, they said, “It seemed like a dream, too good to be true, when God returned Zion’s exiles. We laughed, we sang, we couldn’t believe our good fortune. We were the talk of the nations—”God was wonderful to them!” (Psa 126:1-2 MSG). Hallelujah! Beloved, though troubles may come, they won’t last; but God’s faithfulness remains forever! In all circumstances, lift up your head and choose to see only the sure salvation of the LORD your God.
