LET GOD’S PLEASURE PROSPER

Isaiah 53:10 NASB
“But the Lord desired to crush Him, causing Him grief; If He renders Himself as a guilt offering, He will see His offspring, He will prolong His days, and the good pleasure of the Lord will prosper in His hand.”

In Isaiah 46:10, the LORD says, “I make known the end from the beginning, from ancient times, what is still to come…” (NIV). Among other insights that may be gleaned from that text, the truth that nothing surprises the LORD, stands out. For what we consider as the tail “end” of things or “what is still to come”, is already known to God. Part of the things the LORD already knows are being accomplished or established on earth at their appropriate times. For instance, “…when the fullness of the time had come, God sent forth His Son, born of a woman, born under the law” (Gal 4:4 NKJV).

The Scriptures indicate in several places that God not only does the things He desires on earth, but He does them so well. Several years before Christ’s advent, for example, God revealed to the Prophet Isaiah many precise things. One of them was that “…the good pleasure of the Lord [God the Father] will prosper in His [Christ’s] hand”, as in our text of reference. Hallelujah! Two things to see briefly: firstly, God’s pleasure that was set to be accomplished in and through Christ is “good”: His mercy is good; His grace is good; His forgiveness is good; His chastisement is good; His righteousness is good; His salvation is good!

Secondly, God’s good pleasure was destined to “prosper” in Christ’s hand. Hallelujah! No wonder, once when the disciples pressed Jesus to have something to eat when He was attending to the Samaritan woman, Christ replied, “My food is to do the will of Him who sent Me and to completely finish His work” (Joh 4:34 AMP). In the grand scheme of things, God’s good pleasure is still prospering in Christ’s hand to date: as souls are constantly being delivered from the dominion of darkness and translated into the Kingdom of God, the many snares of the devil notwithstanding! As we partake of the many “good” things that accompany salvation, may God’s pleasure never suffer but prosper in our hands as well. Hallelujah!
