COMPLETE IN CHRIST JESUS

Colossians 2:10 NKJV
“And you are complete in Him, who is the head of all principality and power.”

God made man towards the close of the creation, and the very first words He spoke over him were words of blessing. The Scripture says, “…God blessed them and said, ‘Be fruitful and multiply. Fill the earth and govern it. Reign over the fish in the sea, the birds in the sky, and all the animals that scurry along the ground'” (Gen 1:28 NLT). It is so significant that words of blessing were the very first to be imprinted on the minds of our first earthly parents. The content of God’s blessing had components of fullness, dominion authority over creation, and stewardship responsibilities that the first parents were entrusted with.

There were other things that Adam and Eve heard from the devil who crept in later (Gen 3). The deceptive words of the devil were centred around man’s purported ‘incompleteness’, and thus a desire for ‘more’ so as to “be like God” (Gen 3:5 AMP). That thought pattern created by the devil’s words was definitely contrary to the initial pattern of fullness, dominion authority, and stewardship that God’s words had set into motion. God’s words pointed man to what He (God) had already placed on the inside of him, but Satan’s deceptive words sadly pointed man to a need for things that he (man) had already possessed!

Beloved, the ancient strategy of the devil remains the same: to cultivate dissatisfaction and to cause an unending desire for what we already are, or what God has already given us. Thankfully, God’s precious words preexist and always come first before the devil’s lies! The truth is, in Christ Jesus, we are “…complete in Him, who is the head of all principality and power”, as in our text of reference. (Col 2:10 NKJV). Hallelujah! Thus, let us not be deceived into bondage by the devil, seeking what, in truth, we already are and possess in Christ Jesus. For in Christ, we are truly greatly blessed, deeply loved, highly favoured, and all (good) things are ours.
