FASHIONED TO FLOURISH IN GOD

Matthew 15:13 NKJV
But He answered and said, “Every plant which My heavenly Father has not planted will be uprooted.”

The Scriptures reveal God as the master Giver and Sustainer of all life on earth. The Psalmist spoke specifically about that to God and said, “You open Your hand And satisfy the desire of every living thing” (Psa 145:16 NKJV). The LORD is concerned about the wellbeing of the things He is responsible for, and He glorifies His Name therein. Thus, the Word describes God as the Author (starter), Builder, and the One who plants (Joh 15:1; Heb 3:4; 12:2), among others. Contrary to the blessed things that God does, the devil has always disguised himself to start, build, or plant things that are against the purposes of God.

The enemies’ intention is nothing good but to corrupt, scatter, steal, kill, and destroy what is meant to glorify God. Jesus once told a parable of how the enemy stealthily came and planted tares among wheat (Mat 13:24–43). The devil acted like God (who is the master Gardener), but planted bad and destructive seeds at night. In that fruitless attempt, the devil’s scheme was brought to light and dealt with by the wisdom of God, as always. In a similar plot against Jesus, the Lord gave a resounding response in our text today, saying, “Every plant which My heavenly Father has not planted will be uprooted.”

Thankfully, whatever the the LORD plants or establishes stands the test of time and weathers successfully through the advances of the enemy. On a very blessed note, the Word refers to those who belong to God as the “…trees of righteousness, The planting of the LORD, that He may be glorified” (Isa 61:3 NKJV). Hallelujah! By the inspiration of the Holy Spirit, it was also revealed to the Psalmist that “The righteous shall flourish like a palm tree, He shall grow like a cedar in Lebanon. Those who are planted in the house of the LORD Shall flourish in the courts of our God” (Psa 92:12-13 NKJV). In Christ Jesus, we are born again of the incorruptible seed; planted by the LORD; and we are fashioned to “flourish in the courts of our God”!
