Malachi 3:6 CEV
“Descendants of Jacob, I am the Lord All-Powerful, and I never change. That’s why you haven’t been wiped out.”
To have God Almighty as a Father, in Christ Jesus, is simply the greatest thing that one can ever experience. Think about this for a moment: spiritually speaking, who else would you ever desire to have for a father apart from Him who “…upholds the [whole] universe by the word of his power” (Heb 1:3 ESV), “…who gives life to the dead and calls into existence the things that do not exist” (Rom 4:17 ESV), and who declares “…the end from the beginning and from ancient times things not yet done” (Isa 46:10 ESV), among others? Oh, to our God our Father be all the glory for His greatness and power over all things: visible or invisible; past, present, and future; explainable or otherwise.
If it were not for the undeniable reality of the greatness of our God, the devil would possibly have caused more havoc than his known advances against the righteous (Joh 10:10). No, Satan’s strategy is never to play games at any of his advances, but to ultimately and completely destroy that which honours Christ. And, it is us who are called by the name of the LORD and whom God has created for His own glory (Isa 43:7) that the enemy targets. Nonetheless, Jesus had a far weightier thing to say about that: “…I have come to give you everything in abundance, more than you expect—life in its FULLNESS until you overflow!” (Joh 10:10 TPT).
Blessedly, God the Father has also said a similar thing concerning His own: “I am the Lord All-Powerful, and I never change. That’s why you haven’t been wiped out”, as in our reference text. Hallelujah! Without question, the truth that we are steadily moving on stronger in the grace of God is proof that God is at work in and for us in Christ. Yes, the Word says, “When the enemy shall come in like a flood, the Spirit of the LORD shall lift up a standard against him” (Isa 59:19 KJV). Let us keep that in our hearts and minds and not be overwhelmed by fear of any form. For greater is He (Christ) who is in us than the devil who is in the world!
