OBJECTS OF GOD’S TENDER CARE

Mark 10:16 NKJV
“And He took them up in His arms, laid His hands on them, and blessed them.”

No one has ever had a remarkable impact on mankind as Jesus did, nor will anyone ever again. Through Him, those who sat in darkness saw a great light; through Him, men and women of every background experienced the divine touch of heaven. His death brought us life, and His life gives us hope for eternal salvation and everlasting fellowship with the Father. Jesus is the reason life is worth living. Hallelujah! During His days on earth bodily, the Master’s grace and love spared no one: it extended to everyone, including the little children. Once in the area of Judea, where Jesus was teaching a large crowd, the people brought their children for Him to touch.

They must have seen previously how the touch of Jesus left a blessed impact on those He rested His hands upon. For whatever reason, however, “…the disciples rebuked those who brought them [the children]” (Mark 10:13 NKJV). That did not go well with the Lord, and “…He was greatly displeased and said to them, ‘Let the little children come to Me, and do not forbid them; for of such is the kingdom of God'” (Mark 10:14 NKJV). The Lord’s kindness to all had been prophesied by Isaiah, who said, “He tends his flock like a shepherd: He gathers the lambs in his arms and carries them close to his heart; he gently leads those that have young” (Isa 40:11 NIV). Hallelujah!

As stated in our text of reference, Jesus “took them up in His arms, laid His hands on them, and blessed them.” The little children may not have understood Jesus’ teachings in depth, but His blessing would definitely not leave them the same. The power of the Lord’s blessing manifests in all upon whom it rests, sooner or later. Thankfully, the Scripture says, God has “…blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly realms because we are united with Christ” (Eph 1:3 NLT). Notice, that is not a promise but a settled truth. Yes, spiritually speaking, in Christ Jesus, we are the objects of God’s tender loving care (Eze 34:11-16). Accept His word, and may His blessing perfect that which concerns you, to the glory of His name!
