SPEAKING GOD’S WORD IN FAITH

Luke 6:45 BSB
“…For out of the overflow of the heart, the mouth speaks.”

There are things that the Lord Jesus said and did that give us important cues into how the spiritual world interacts with the physical. Yes, “…what can be seen was made out of what cannot be seen” (Heb 11:3 GNT), and both the seen and unseen are constantly interacting, with the spiritual realm setting the pace for the things that happen on earth physically. One medium of exchange for effecting changes between the spiritual and the physical realms is words. Right from the dawn of Creation in Genesis 1, God the Father used words to bring into physical existence that which was not visible.

Indeed, the fact that God “…calls those things which do not exist as though they did” (Rom 4:17 NKJV) is proof that there is much more, beyond what our human eyes can see, which can be brought into physical existence. The use of words to effect divine changes was also characteristic of God the Son. Jesus spoke to sickness conditions, invisible evil spirits, physical trees, the wind, and so on; and all of them heard and obeyed! What kind of words were those spoken by Christ to effect such amazing changes? He gave us the answer: “The words that I speak to you are spirit, and they are life” (Joh 6:63 NKJV). Hallelujah!

The involvement of the Holy Spirit in imparting life in and through the words Christ spoke made all the difference. Blessedly, the Holy Scriptures possess a similar divine quality. The people God used to bring forth His word “…were under the control of the Holy Spirit as they spoke the message that came from God” (2 Pet 1:21 GNT). Beloved, the Word of God is living and powerful to effect great changes in the physical when spoken in faith (Mar 11:23-24). As such, it must “dwell in you richly in all wisdom” (Col 3:16 NKJV); for out of that “overflow of the [Word from the] heart, the mouth speaks.” Oh, give no room for things to get out of hand when we have God’s word at hand to bring about blessed changes. Keep speaking it forth in faith!
