WE HAVE SO MUCH HELP IN GOD

Psalm 3:2-3 KJV
“Many there be which say of my soul, There is no help for him in God. Selah. But thou, O Lord, art a shield for me; my glory, and the lifter up of mine head.”

God’s Kingdom of light has had various satanic advances against it for a long time, but to no avail. Day after day, the King of glory is watching over His people already within the Kingdom, and delivering many more people “…from the power of darkness…into the kingdom of the Son of His love” (Col 1:13 NKJV). Hallelujah! Yes, the Son of God (Jesus Christ) Himself also made it clear that “…I will build my church; and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it” (Mat 16:18 KJV). The power in Jesus’ words is still effective to date, doing wonders for His people.

According to Jesus, although the evil forces of hell try to come against us (Christ’s church), they cannot prevail. Even in the Old Testament, God kept fighting for those He had appointed unto Himself. Many of such persons held firmly onto God despite what the devil did. For instance, when all of Israel turned against God at some point (as engineered ultimately by the devil), Joshua said to them, “If it is unacceptable in your sight to serve the LORD, choose for yourselves this day whom you will serve…but as for me and my house, we will serve the LORD” (Jos 24:15 AMP). Hallelujah!

Having served with Moses in the Tabernacle for many years, Joshua had seen the power of God for himself. In our text today, David also re-echoed what the devil (through men) had thoughtlessly said to him: “There is no help for him in God.” ‘No help’ for the one who had trusted in the Mighty God of war? Oh, how sadly mistaken they were! Blessedly, instead of being bogged down, the Psalmist said to God, “But thou, O Lord, art a shield for me; my glory, and the lifter up of mine head”! Notice, David amplified who God was to him than what the devil had said about him. There is so much help for us in God. Believe only the report of the LORD and keep prevailing.
